Recorded at Jazzworx Studios in Johannesburg, this sample pack offers a deep exploration of African rhythms from across the continent, performed by master percussionist Tshepo Motswe. Now known by his stage name CONGWERO, Motswe began his musical journey in 1997 in Kimberley, Northern Cape, playing drums and percussion for theatre dancers and actors.
In 1999, he returned to Johannesburg to study at the Tembisa Jazz School at the Moses Molelekwa Arts Foundation, marking his entry into the professional music industry. This led to a collaboration with award-winning musician Selaelo Selota, with whom he continues to perform today. In addition, Motswe is an in-demand session musician for artists around the world.
Strongly influenced by Latin music—clearly reflected in this pack—Motswe is the only South African percussionist endorsed by LP Music, the renowned Latin Percussion instrument brand.
