Audio Damage AD044 Discord4 v4.1 [WIN OSX LINUX]

Audio Damage AD044 Discord4 v4.1 VST VST3 AU AAX [WIN OSX LINUX]

Discord4 is the latest version of our most popular and long-lived product, our Discord stereo pitch shifter. Originally modeled from the H910, Discord has long since become its own effect and a studio standby, and this version includes major additions to further stretch its capabilities.

The pitch-shifter consists of three separate algorithms: a “vintage” mode (the original Discord algorithm, modeled on the Eventide H910 and H949), a “clean” mode for more modern shifting sounds, and a “granular” mode for experimental effects. Each mode has its strengths, depending on the input material, and Discord3 has a broad palette of capabilities as a result. The P1 and P2 algorithms have full control over the buffer (window) size of the shift effect, for fine tuning the shift to the input signal, or for stranger sound effects. At the extremes of the six-octave shift range, some truly strange aliasing and artifacts can be had with this control.

Discord4 retains its pair of tempo-synced delays and bandpass filters from previous versions, and adds a reverb in the feedback loop (for easy access to “shimmer” effects). We have also replaced the modulation sources from the original with our all-new FLFO (Flexible LFO) design. Panorama controls are included to control the stereo width of the wet signal. Finally, soft saturation and limiting have been added or improved throughout the signal path, for an overall improved sound and added vintage-style warmth, and to allow for extreme feedback experiments without fear of overloading your DAW’s channel.

Features:

  • Three Pitch Shifting Algorithms
Discord4’s two pitch shifters feature with three unique algorithms (Vintage, Clean, and Granular) for different styles of pitch shifting
  • Advanced Parameter Control
The pitch shifter algorithm’s parameters are adjustable offering precise control over the pitch shifting effect. The P1 Vintage and P2 Clean algorithms have a Buffer size control ranging from 32 to 2048 samples. The G2 Granular algorithm allows the user to adjust the grain size, frequency and randomization.
  • Modulation
Two of our new FLFO (Flexible Low-Frequency Oscillator) with tempo sync and an arbitrary waveform, capable of a nearly infinite number of modulation shapes using only three controls.
  • Delay
Two tempo-synced or free-running delays with feedback, cross-feedback, and a sophisticated bandpass filter.
  • Reverb
The delay’s feedback path contains a simple stereo reverbfor “shimmer” effects and further sound exploration.
  • True Stereo Operation
Discord4 features a true stereo signal path. Both channels can be controlled entirely independently or linked. Each channel’s panorama position is adjustable, providing control over spatial positions and stereo width.
  • Soft Saturation and Limiting
At different points in the signal path, saturation and limiting are employed for vintage-style warmth, and to allow for extreme feedback experiments without fear of overloading your DAW’s channel.
  • Mix control
Blend of the processed and the dry input signal.
  • MIDI Note Control
Six octaves of pitch-shifting can be controlled with MIDI note input.
  • Cross-Platform Preset Format
Eos utilizes an XML-based preset manager. Work between multiple systems without troubles, make a preset on your desktop machine and paste it to the iOS version with Handoff, easily share your creations with your friends, or make a preset bundle to sell.
  • Fully Resizable Hi-Dpi/Retina GUI
Discord4’s vector-based GUI is resolution-agnostic, and displays the same on every system and resolution. Easily resize the UI (per instance) to match your visual needs, from postage stamp to poster-sized.

DISCORD v4.1.0 Changelog:

— Windows 32-bit version removed. This build is 64-bit only.
— Linux 64-bit VST and VST3 added, Ubuntu 18 or greater.
— macOS payload is now Universal 2 for both Intel and M1 Macs.
— macOS preset folder moved from /Application Support/Audio Damage/ to ~/Music/Audio Damage. If you have user presets saved, you must manually move them to the new location
