Built on Native Instruments’ Kontakt Engine, Shadow Drones offers smooth performance, flexible layering, and fast sound browsing. Inside you’ll find 24 Kontakt instruments (.nki), each clearly labeled and structured for efficient navigation through kits and samples.
Expand your creative control with features like Stretch Mode. With a single switch, any sample can be reassigned across the entire key range, turning it into a playable chromatic instrument via sample stretching. This allows for dramatic pitch-shifts, evolving timbres, and expressive melodic textures. The built-in Favorites system lets you quickly mark and revisit your preferred sounds, streamlining your workflow and keeping inspiration close at hand.
The user interface gives you extensive sculpting power, including global effects and detailed sample editing. Adjust Sample Start, Pan, Volume, and Pitch; shape the sound with Attack/Release envelopes; and flip playback using Direction (Reverse) mode. Fine-tune the character of each drone with Lo Cut / Hi Cut filters or apply modulation through the LFO with adjustable shape, speed, intensity, and fade-in. Global Mode allows you to apply parameter changes to every sample at once for fast, unified sound-shaping.
Shadow Drones also includes two versatile effects racks (FX1/FX2) offering Chorus, Delay, Flanger, Phaser, Plate, Psyche Delay, Raum, Replica, and Twin—usable globally or per sample. At the master level, Driver (compression, saturation, distortion) and Sweetener (EQ, saturation, transient shaping, stereo imaging) give you full control over output tone and impact. MIDI knob assignments make it easy to manipulate pitch and effects in real time for performance or hybrid scoring setups.
